Easy Lemon  Cut-Out Sugar Cookies


These roll out lemon sugar cookies are sweet and buttery, with a strong, but not overwhelming lemon flavor. 

STEP 1: Beat butter and sugar on high with an electric mixer until well combined.

STEP 2: Add egg and lemon extract and beat on medium until smooth.

STEP 3: Slowly incorporate dry ingredients about 1/4 cup at a time and beat on low until combined.

STEP 4: .Add lemon zest at 1 tsp of milk and beat on high for 20-30 seconds. If the dough is still dry, continue to add 1 tsp of milk at a time.

STEP 5: .Roll out cookie dough to 1/4" thickness between two sheets of wax paper. Cut out shapes and place on lined cookie sheet.

STEP 6: .Bake cookies at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Let cool on cookie sheet for 5 minute before transferring to cooling rack.
